Our School Rules

Although the ATA has specific rules of etiquette, our school has our own set of rules that we expect our students to follow.

We believe that discipline is freedom. It should be understood by members that the purpose of these rules is primarily to ensure maximum benefit from the study of Taekwondo. The basic principles found in these rules have been a part of Taekwondo from its inception.

 1.  Bow to the flags and your instructor when entering and leaving the school. This is to show courtesy and respect.

 2.  Do not enter or leave class without permission from your instructor.

 3.  Students should bow before speaking to the instructor and use words of consideration such as "yes, sir", "no, sir" and "excuse me, sir".

 4.  No eating or drinking is allowed inside the school (except for water in the dressing or viewing areas).

 5.  Please remove shoes and socks before entering the training area.

 6.  Please use the restroom before class begins.

 7.  No one is allowed to use any equipment without permission.

 8.  Sparring gear is mandatory for all ages.

 9.  All students are expected to be courteous and understanding. Advanced students are expected to set a good example to new students and to assist such students whenever necessary.

10.  Loud conversation, improper language, chewing gum in class or "horse play" have no place in a Taekwondo school.

11.  Your uniform should be clean and pressed at all times.

12.  Any substitute teacher should be treated as your regular instructor.

13.  Do not give a demonstration or teach Taekwondo without the approval of your instructor.

14.  No jewelry should be worn during class except for a wedding band.

15.  Do not engage in any activities that might degrade the code of Taekwondo ethics or the reputation of the school.

16.  You must have the approval of the School before participating in any tournament competition.

17. Participation in any other school, except your own, should be with your instructor's consent.

18. Women and girls are required to wear white t-shirts under their uniform at all times. Men and boys should only wear their uniform tops with no t-shirt.

ANY DEVIATION FROM THE ABOVE MENTIONED RULES COULD RESULT IN DISMISSAL FROM THE SCHOOL.
